Lightly fermented, non-baked, half-sphere rolled oolong tea. Grown and manufactured at Shan Ling Xi Long Feng Xia tea farm.
Shan Ling Xi is one of the famous places in central Taiwan, where the oolongs are producing. Together with Li Shan and Ali Shan it is a triad of the best high mountain oolong teas. The gardens of this region are located at an altitude 1600-1800 m. and they were created in 1970s. Nowadays, the production of such place is especially appreciated. The region of Long Feng Xia (Dragon and Phoenix Canyon) specifically stands out, and its tea is considered the best at Shan Ling Xi. Growing tea so high in mountains impedes the manufacturing. It reduces the amount of harvest and respectively increases the cost. But just on high altitudes the tea has especial sweetness, and the quantity of healthy substances raise significantly. Shan Ling Xi area is known for its picturesque coniferous forests and crystal mountain streams with waterfalls.
Owing to unique soil and climatic conditions and tender manufacturing, this kind of tea has delicate flavour with flowery bouquet and pine tones. The infusion of Shan Ling Xi oolong tea is oily thick and sweet, without bitterness and unpleasant astringency. Such tea is possible to drink on an empty stomach for those who are not recommended by doctors to drink green tea, because it would not irritate the gastric mucosa. Shan Ling Xi will be fine either in the heat, due to its fresh mountain nature, or in the cold, when your body would be warmed by the spirit of coniferous forest.
To have the largest pleasure, Shan Ling Xi oolong tea requires some attention in making. Certainly, it may be brewed in usual tea cup, just threw there several tea leaves and pour them on with boiling water. The result will be good. But to disclose the whole of its delicacy and rich play of aroma tints more, you should put the tea in previously warmed services. Better brew it with boiling water cooled to 80-90°C. You may steep it several times, increasing steeping time and the water temperature gradually. When traditionally maked “by pouring”, the tea support very long tea party.
