Ali Shan range, which the tea was named (the word “Alit” means “ancestor mountain” in several Taiwanese indigene languages), is a popular mountain resort and natural preserve area in the island. Time and again in a packaging design the red narrow-gauge geared steam locomotive used, it is the tourist attraction. A narrow-gauge railway was constructed by the Japanese during their possession of the island originally for logging. Now it is a tourist line. By the way, it should be noted that the Japanese later recovered all chopped forests.
The mountains are famous for its remarkable sights, very mild climate and for its teas. The tea manufacturing in this area was started since the second half of the last century. “Ali Shan” cultivar is a visiting card of this place, one of the well-known teas in the world, the pride of tea makers from Nantou and Chiayi Counties, at the junction of which the area is located. “Formosa Taiwan Tea” is proud of Ali Shan oolong tea and gladly proposes it for you. Ali Shan oolong is perfect for the usual brewing also and superior in traditional tea drinking. Perhaps, you should not take too much tea leaves for steeping. The more the quality level of tea, the less it should be taken. If you steep it in a teacup, you would need just a few tea leaves. When steeping in a teapot, it would be enough the one teaspoon for a volume of 250 ml. For a traditional tea drinking in gaiwan or yixing teawares, take a quarter of the total. As a raw is used the flush, a young shoot of 3-4 leaves. When the flushes disclose during steeping, they occupy the whole volume of a teaware. You should not fail to admire of weak tea shapes. You can see there the youth of a shoot, all the tenderness and softness of manual manufacturing.
To disclose its features all around, it is better to use the mild water and cool the boiling water to 80-90°C. Ali Shan oolong tea will certainly show the delicacy of flavour. It will be indispensible in business negotiations, for taking guests and as a separate entertainment.
